Dr. Angela Stewart is a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), and a Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor (CCMHC). She earned a bachelor’s degree from Tougaloo College in Psychology, a master’s degree from Georgia State University in Professional Counseling, and a doctorate from Capella University in Health Psychology. Also, she completed a degree in Clinical Psychology with Fielding Graduate University and is currently seeking licensure in Georgia as a Clinical Psychologist. Dr. Stewart has been providing supervision to masters-level clinicians since 2006 and is an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) through the Center for Credentialing Education (CCE).
Dr. Stewart has taught college-level psychology courses and has more than 15 years of experience providing therapeutic services in various settings, including residential treatment for children and adolescents, acute and long-term psychiatric hospitals, private practice, community mental health, and in-home/community-based settings. Utilizing a cognitive behavioral approach to treatment that incorporates trauma-informed principles, Dr. Stewart works with a diverse population of individuals, including children, adolescents, and adults. She provides assessments and treatment for a range of emotional and behavioral concerns, such as trauma, attachment, depression, anxiety, and attention problems. She is committed to breaking down barriers to accessing quality mental health services and working with culturally diverse individuals in underserved populations.
